Strafford is located in Strafford County, New Hampshire.  It includes the Village of Bow Lake, a popular fishing town.  

Strafford is divided in half by the Blue Hills Range.  The highest point in the range is Parker Mountain, which is 1,420 feet above sea level.  The town offers many outdoor recreational opportunities, including camping, fishing, boating and snowmobiling.

Strafford was once part of Barrington.  It was incorporated n 1820 and named after Strafford County.  The Bow Lake Grange Hall in town was built in 1829.  It originally operated as a steam mill and today is home to the theatre group, The Lakeside Players.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Strafford’s population at the time was 3,626 people.  This included 1,281 households and 1,022 families.  The average family size was 3.14 and the average household size was 2.82.  Strafford is comprised of 49.2 square miles of land and 0.2 square miles of water. 

Strafford Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 1,564 homes and an average of 32 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Strafford was comprised of a total of 1,798 homes.  This included 1,608 single family homes and 88 multi-unit homes.
